So Jody was asking me to do this a while ago and, kazam!, I actually did it. There’s now a little section in the right column that shows the most recent comments. So you can see what all the cool kids are discussing. The date/time thing shows when the last comment was posted. It can be tweaked if so desired….
i realized this tonight as the kids were crawling naked around the apartment, giddy with post bath glee.
rowan was chasing niamh yelling “HEY BOOTY-LICIOUS!!!!!”
ummm…there may have been a bit of booty tweaking involved too.
oops.
it was not laundry detergent at all, but fabric softener. i’ve been using it for about two weeks and just started getting suspicious a couple of days ago. today i used google translate and figured it out. i got what i thought was hypoallergenic detergent. it’s definitely hypoallergenic, but shouldn’t anything hypoallergenic be frangrance free? the smell is making me gag. i’ve tried about four different brands of laundry detergent and all the hypoallergenic and sensitive detergents (the others were indeed detergents) smell disgusting. how hard is it to get a detergent without smell? argh. anyway. there you go. the latest swiss mix up in the mccann house. a few days ago i finally tossed the sugar with flour in it i bought when we first got here (in the compost bin–it wasn’t a complete waste at least!). why would anyone need sugar with flour in it?
Remember my earlier post about Veronica Mars? I have to say that Amy was right. I have watched the first two seasons and am downloading the 3rd season as fast as I can. My question for the group is: what TV shows have I missed out on?

Bride attacks groom with stiletto shoe
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
LONDON — Scottish bride Teresa Brown’s dream of a perfect wedding day probably did not include attacking the groom with her stiletto shoe and spending the weekend in a cell.
Police arrested the 33-year-old in the couple’s hotel room in April while her wedding reception continued downstairs, prosecutor Alan Townsend said Tuesday at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. She spent the rest of her wedding weekend in a cell.
The distraught groom, Mark Allerton, 40, staggered to the front desk, clutching a bloody towel to his head, Townsend said.
“He indicated that his wife had struck him over the head with a stiletto heel,” the prosecutor said.
Police found Brown, a real estate agent’s assistant, sitting on the hotel room bed, surrounded by broken glass.
Brown told police she and her husband had “been accusing each other of different things,” the prosecutor said, without going into details. Brown said she hit him on the head because he had taken a hold of her, he added.
Brown’s lawyer Stuart Beveridge said the newlyweds began throwing things at each other after an argument in their room turned physical. He said Brown had been on antidepressants at the time and had been drinking.
“She and her husband are still together although this incident has not helped,” he said, adding she is receiving counseling.
Sheriff James Tierney let Brown off on the assault charge with a warning and fined her 250 pounds ($505) for damaging the hotel room and ordered her to pay the hotel 500 pounds ($1,150) in compensation.
Hilton Treetops said in a statement that they were happy the case has closed.
“This has been a very unusual case,” the hotel said.
Dear Roses, congrats, Melissa’s post today makes our 100th! Who knew we had so much to say?!
Keep chattering!
Dear All,
I just wanted to let you know that after about a month and a half I have finally been reunited with my first love…Ted E. Bear. While I was afraid that he sought higher education (and went off to college like his pedecessor, Spicy, who went off to college when I was four) or was consumed by the heavy weight champ Clara; Ted infomed me that he just needed a little vay-kay after some tough duty early this year. Thanks for your prayers and vigilance.
I was reading an article on the “wounded” Christian churches on cnn and was surprised by the picture of the pope.

Is it me or does this photo look like it belongs on a Dateline special?
i have recently started reading a lot of adoption blogs. at first it was just blogs of parents adopting from ethiopia. but has since branched out to adoptees, adoptive parents, first mothers (haven’t run across any first father blogs). it’s pretty interesting. there are a lot of really really angry adoptees out there. i’m learning how not to parent my adopted children, that’s for sure.
i am beginning to think that i’m not going to be able to come to terms completely with adoption being a good or bad thing. it is too complex. it’s hard for me to write out my thoughts about this, because they are such a jumbled mess. i keep typing and erasing. so i’ll just point you to the starting point for me:

and here is an adoptee’s blog that was very interesting. she is korean, adopted into a jewish family. she has developed leukemia and has since moved to israel for some sort of special treatment that is only available there. sounds like her hebrew is pretty decent too!!
