Dear blog,

I’m not trying to ignore you, honest! You see, I’ve got this other blog, a baby blog, and so right now people are asking me for all kinds of updates and whatnot so it’s been hard to keep up on both! I’ll and divide my time more evenly after the hype has died down a bit.

Love you and miss you,

Dahlia J

Seriously though, people. I’m wondering what I should do? Write on both like Chat? Merge baby stewart to here? I guess I need to think about my audience…. But just how many freaking blogs can one person keep up with? The insanity!

Another rose is born! Happy belated birthday, baby J! We’ve all been waiting a long time and we’re very glad you’re here. Get well soon. ( I heard you and mom have/had a fever.) I can’t wait to see you and hold you and moderately squeeze you. I’ll bring my Pokey Little Puppy golden book since I was dusting it off yesterday. You are so loved!!!! Congrats to the new mom and dad. It sounds like you guys did very well. I plan to come by to see you today after work.

Not that SeSe (formerly Sequel) is an old cat, but she has recently learned a new trick. When my mom or dad get home, they usually let her out in the backyard for some ‘outside time.’ When she is ready to come back in, one of them will open the door slightly and say, ‘what’s the magic word?’ to which my dad has taught SeSe to walk in a circle – then she gets to come in.

Here is a list of some of the things that came to my house today:

  • A Valentine from my mom with a pig on it that says, “Look! It’s Cupig!”
  • A new debit card, even though my other one doesn’t expire until 2010 and I didn’t request a new one.
  • A Zymoglyphic Museum Onsie.
  • A small package including a Birthday card that blares MC Hammer, from Mychelle
  • A changing pad
  • Our first round of cloth diapers
  • A package c/o me but for Emily

I just recieved a Facebook friend request from someone in my department in Malaysia.  I have no desire for this person to know what is happening in my life, so I’m inclined to ignore the request.  That being said (or written) I think that not accepting the request will make her even crankier than normal and it could have an impact on our already poor working relationship.  What would you do?

Since we didn’t have a lot of time before the Super Bowl party at Chris and Jason’s we decided to make some flavored popcorn as a quick and easy snack to bring over. My mom and grandma were here to attend a family shower and I’d also conned my grandma into hemming my dress for so and so’s upcoming wedding. Hemming took a lot longer than expected (ie, basically I turned my office into a sweatshop where my grandma worked tirelessly for several hours) so Mr. Slanky took over the popcorn-making operation. We could immediately tell something was wrong from the queer burning smell that soon rose to the upstairs bedrooms. I rushed down to the kitchen in time to see the pot of popcorn steaming at all the edges of the lid and black liquid pouring out. Yes, Slanky had liquified the popcorn, probably ruining my pan and making the house unbreathable. Behold his handy work.

It is now Thursday and there are still parts of the house where the smell lingers on. I even baked cookies hoping the nice smell of sweet dessert would rid the house of the stench but no, it’s still here.

It’s Super Tuesday in America. Monday must feel bad sandwiched between Super Bowl Sunday and Super Tuesday. Anyway, I came across this Obama video this morning.

It’s done by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and some of his famous friends. And damn if it’s not inspiring. Whether or not he can effectively govern can be argued, but Obama is one amazing speaker. A little bit of abstract hope after 8 long years of Bush sure is comforting.

Speaking of will.i.am, he’s been redeemed in my eyes with this. I thought Black Eyed Peas were a somewhat talented band with some ok songs and entertaining stage show (breakdancers and whatnot), then they added Fergie and things really went downhill. Generic inoffensive pop, doing silly commercials, Fergie wetting herself, etc. But at least they got enough $$ to make a snazzy video…
