On why I love REI

Ok, I had a whole post written on the iphone wordpress and it looks like 3/4 of it didn’t load. Bah! Ok, redoing.

Today we went to REI to pick up a coat we ordered for Jonah and while I was glancing through the “returns” sale section I ran across a little blue wind breaker and the tag said this (in case my picture was not clear): decided it wasn’t pretty after 11 months of wear

Huh? It takes guts to list that as your reason for returning something.

shoplifting for the first time at 30

i was grocery shopping with rowan and niamh. niamh in the stroller, rowan walking. i didn’t have a basket, but rowan was pushing one of those kid-sized carts. the cart got too full, so i put this big bag of rice under the stroller and totally forgot about it when i was buying the groceries. dang it! those checkers really need to watch people more carefully.

so, what do you think? will my karmic debt to the universe be balanced if i just donate an extra $10 to charity?
and just because a post is always better with a photo, here you go-the item that broke my law-abiding streak:

Sometimes It Makes My Blood Boil

Slanky and I went on a little shopping excursion today and I have to say, sometimes shopping makes me soooo angry.  It seems like the older I get the less I find what I want.  I’m sure we all feel this way.  And shopping for maternity clothes?  WTF?  Every single pair of pants I tried on were ill-fitting and I feel like making the bold statement that there’s no possibility of them fitting any woman correctly.

We did accomplish some face lotion and body wash at Aveda where we were also offered some herbal tea by one of the clerks.  I declined as it’s my general rule as a pregnant woman to not accept herbal teas from random strangers but Slanky took some.  It smelled like horse hair and I don’t think the taste was any better.
